Grace Notes - An Overture and Introductory Cohort
Join Julian Reid Davis, friend of The Abbey, artist, musician, and theologian as he leads this two part introductory “overture” online offering for church musicians plus others interested in drawing closer to God.
For musicians, we will examine and reflect on the unique dynamic of the intersection of our faith and our music. And for all, we will reflect on the power and depth music conveys on our spiritual lives.
Thursday October 23rd and Thursday November 6th (Online) from 7:30 - 9:00 p.m. CT.
Content – we will use of jazz, hip hop, etc. (not traditional church or gospel music) and how it teaches us to pay attention to God at work in our world.

Julian Davis Reid (M.Div., Candler School of Theology) is a child of God, the husband of Carmen and father of Lydia, a son and brother, and a Black artist-theologian of Chicago who uses words and music to invite us into the restful lives we were created to live. A musician, speaker, and writer, Julian is the founder of the ministry Notes of Rest®, which invites the weary into the rest of God practiced in the Bible and Black music.
